🧟WHAT IT IS
It’s a seasonal haunted-house attraction, run by the theatre company The Gateway Playhouse (aka Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County). Every year (typically in October, spanning several weeks), the theatre transforms its property into an immersive, walk-through haunted experience with a brand-new theme, lots of actors, and theatrical production design. Furthermore, it’s more than just a simple “jump-scare corridor”; the attraction utilizes theatrical sets, lighting, sound, live actors, theming, and detailed scenic design to create a fully immersive experience.

🧟WHAT TO EXPECT
- New theme each year: The path and story change annually, so returning visitors experience something different each time.
- Live actors & professional production: Because it’s run by a professional theatre, the actors are trained and the production values are high (sets, makeup, lighting, sound).
- Midway area & additional attractions: Outside (or in the queue area) there’s what they call a “Midway” – carnival-style attractions, food trucks, a “Fear Garden” (adult drinks), shooting gallery, etc.
- Recommended age & child-friendly option: The main haunt is recommended for ages 12 or 13 and up (due to intense scares). They also offer a “Not So Scary” version for younger kids on some weekend afternoons.
