THINGS TO DO ON LONG ISLAND | LAVENDER BY THE BAY, EAST MARION FARM

Make it a road trip and visit East End Long Island stopping by Lavender by the Bay (LBTB), East Marion Farm. LBTB is peaceful, serene, and beautifully scented – a calm escape that will rejuvenate your senses. I recommend making time to visit Lavender by the Bay, East Marion Farm, 7540 Main Rd., East Marion, NY 11939.

Lavender’s lovely fragrance comes from the essential oils locked inside the lavender buds. Lavender can last for months and often years!  As long as you have lavender buds intact, you will have fragrance. Just give your bunch or sachet a gentle pinch/squeeze to release more fragrance. Naturally grown on the North Fork of New York’s Long Island, their aromatic lavender will soothe your mind, body, and soul.

There are three blooming periods during the season, mid-June, early July and late Summer/early Fall. LBTB grows both English lavender and French lavender which come into flower and peak at different times. The best time to visit is in early July when the French lavender is at its height. Lavender by the Bay currently has two locations Calverton and East Marion.

Do you enjoy lavender fragrances? Are you going to visit? Let me know!
